Ahuja eye centre is very happy to announce the addition of a new device called Orthoptek to our armamentarium.
This is the first instillation of the machine in the whole of UP
It’s a new device used in vision therapy to treat lazy eye or amblyopia
Conventionally it is said that lazy eye can be treated only till 10 years of age . But this device stimulates different areas of brain to improve vision and is effective even in advanced age groups specially upto 17-18 years unlike the older technologies and also improves stereopsis bringing about improvement in both the quality of vision and the quality of life
The treatment consists of a series of exercises with specific intervals of light stimulation to stimulate the peripheral retina and the centres in the brain.
Each session takes around 40-45 minutes and should be done for a minimum 12 days to begin with and is fine tuned further depending on the response
